done and gone
I finally finished the cupcakes and I am kind of loving them. I have a few finishing touches to do and of course, I have to photograph them, but then they will be winging their way to Florida. It was a fun challenge to get them all made in time. I definitely work better when I have a deadline, well, sometimes, because sometimes it just stresses me out and I end up kind of resenting the project.
I digress, because what I really want to show you is something I made before I got cupcake crazy.
This is a variation on the crayon wraps I made. This one is more of a travel pouch or entertaining the kids in awkward situations pouch. You get the idea.
We've been having lots of day trips this summer and have been eating out in the evenings and there is always the moment where we get stuck in traffic, or I have two hungry kids waiting for dinner and aside from tap dancing I haven't got much in the way of entertaining them. Not so anymore. These wraps are filled with stickers, crayons, pencils, pens and postcards. And of course notebooks..lots of notebooks.
I am pretty happy with them, especially because they gave me an excuse to use some of my favorite Puti de Pome fabrics from my stash.
So that's me for the week. I am excited/nervous about this weekend. I am heading to NYC.... ALONE. As in, by myself, no kids, no husband. I have never left the kids before. I know how lame that sounds. I really do. But there never seemed like a good time and just like that nearly 5 years have passed. So this is my first weekend 'off' hanging out with friends. Just me.
And my credit card. Woo Hoo.
