necessity is the mother of invention
I finally got round to making a pair of long shorts for Floyd. I have had this pattern (Burda 9793) for about a year and bought everything to make them (fabric, elastic, toggles and cord) but then never did it. Well, this weekend got me motivated, it got up to 70 degrees. Four days ago Cissy had to wear her snowsuit out and now she has a sun burnt chin. It seems we bypassed spring and went straight into summer.
This is a shot of the back, the front is just plain and I actually made two pairs because he really does need some new clothes and I have vowed to try and make as many of the kids' clothes as I can.
He seems to like them well enough though it was hard to get a picture of him in them because he kept jumping around shouting "I'm making frog arms mummy, FROG ARMS" and flailing his arms around. Irritating but cute. That kind of sums him up these days.

I really love the cording and toggles. What a great detail.

Please tell me where you got the cord and toggles. I have the same pattern for my little guy - and I've bought fabric - but I can't find any decent cord and toggles.

Those are so cute! I've always thought that I wanted to make clothes for my children, mayhaps my necessity will motivate me enough this summer. Nice work!
